Nick Lawrence is a photographer living in Berkeley CA. He grew up in New York City, graduated Cornell University in Sociology and Anthropology and studied art history at NYU’s Institute of Fine Arts. As a photographer he is primarily self taught but studied with Lisette Model, who was an important influence. Recent solo exhibitions; Cuchifritos Gallery, NYC (2019), SFMOMA Artists Gallery, San Francisco (2016), J Houston Gordon Museum at the University of Tennessee (2015), Underground Gallery (NYC 1970). He was included in group exhibitions at the Berkeley Art Center (2015), University of California, San Francisco (1973), George Eastman House, Rochester NY (1970). He is represented in a number of private collections as well as in the collection of the George Eastman House, and are in Special Collections at the Paul Meek Library, University of Tennessee.
