Friends of Mine is a collection of new works. It is an exploration of large portraits on paper. Since the pandemic, I, like the rest of the world have been sequestered away from friends and family. The need to create the illusion of my friends being nearby is the driving force behind this latest series. By painting them nearly life size I get to spend time with a part of them. These works are inspired by various dinner parties, hang outs at home, and at times, mined from friends’ social media posts.
